It's important to provide your pet bird with mental and physical stimuli.  An entertained, challenged bird is far less likely to pluck his feathers or engage in other "bored" behaviors, and as his owner, you'll be rewarded with watching him learn and grow.

Toys are an excellent way to promote mental and physical activity!  New textures, bright colors, mirrors, sounds, moving parts, and puzzles will pique your bird's natural curiousity and encourage him to explore his environment.  And "destructible" toys, such as those incorporating wooden chews or safe shreddable paper, will satisfy your bird's foraging instincts.  (The Kozy Keet is great for parakeets!)

Hide-outs and comfy, snuggly houses are another way to enrich your bird's habitat while giving him a sense of comfort and security.  The Snuggle Hut is a favorite of ours!
